On the issues

Where do I stand on many of the issues that concern you all? Ask me and I'll answer. To kick this off, I will state my position on some of the more pertinent topics of the day:

  • Equality - Every human being has a right to be treated in a fair, just and equal manner. I don't care if you were born into riches or into poverty, your rights are equal. Age, gender, race, religion, national origin, right or left handed, handicapped, smart or not, you are a human being and all human beings share the same rights.
  •  Reproductive Rights - I believe every woman has an inalienable right to do with her own body as she see's fit. No one, not even a husband, should be able to decide for her. Whatever she chooses is a decision made exclusively between her and her doctor.
  • Minimum Wage - A person working a 40 hr./week job at minimum wage should be able to afford decent meals, adequate clothing, a safe place to live, and enough left over to make life worth living. A minimum wage job should only be for young people that are just entering the work force and learning the ropes, not a career wage.
  • Gender Issues - We are as varied as the flowers, and just as beautiful. No laws should be made that steals a person's identity from them, shames them for what they cannot help being, nor punish them for living a life that concerns no one else.
  • Healthcare - Free for everyone! A healthy nation is a strong nation.
  • Education - Free for everyone! An educated nation is a wise nation.
  • Fracking - Whoever thought this one up needs a cranial re-alignment.
  • Green Energy - I support the development of every form of energy that does not pollute our air, our water, our lands, or our health. Wind, sun, geothermal, tidal waves ... all are the answer to our future energy needs.
  • Wall Street - Shatter the big banks and tax the hell out of the bastards that make money on the backs of those that actually work for a living.
  • Citizens United - Not just no. HELL NO!
  • Second Amendment - Personally, I believe the 1st Amendment is the most important one. I respect the right of citizens that like to hunt, and I respect the right of a person to defend themselves. I don't believe that assault rifles, and other military equipment is necessary for either one of those things. Sanity should prevail!
